Visit of the Imam of Al Masjidul Haram in Macca to the Orphanage

On 18/11/1429 H the Orphanage was Honoured by the visit of Imam of Al Masjidul Haram in Macca His eminence Adil Bin Salim Al Kalbany and his delegation from Saudi Arabia. He was very happy by what he saw and he prayed for the prosperity of the persons running this Orphanage. At the end the shook hands with the orphans.

Visit of Zakat House representative to the Orphanage

As the Zakat House used to supervise the organizations cooperating with the representatives of Zakat House who is also the Controller of the foreign activities Mr.: Habib Mohamaed Al Yahyooh visited the Orphanage to supervise and follow up the services rendered to the orphans sponsored by them amounting to 300 on 27th of October 2008. During his visit he inspected the classrooms, hostels, accounts and the orphans personal files. At the end he made some suggestions regarding the upbringing of the orphans teaching the Quran.

Celebration on the occasion of the 46th Anniversary

On the occasion of completing the 46th year by the Orphanage the Old Boys of the Orphanage organized a get together which was attended by hundreds of passed out Orphans and Authorities on 14th October 2008 which is corresponding to the foundation day of the Orphanage in 1962. Among the events conducted on that day were some contests & competitions between the Old Boys and the Present Boys and exchanging of views and encouraging of the Present Boys who excelled in their studies.

Annual tour to Costal Area & the Hill Capitol

One of the facilities provided for the Orphans is the Annual Tour. The purpose of this tour is to help them enhance their Educational & General Knowledge and to inculcate happiness and mental satisfaction in them. In order to achieve this, we organized a 4 day tour starting on 21st April, 2008.

The places visited during the tour included the coastal area & the hill country of Sri Lanka. We first visited the places affected by the tsunami, the coral gardens in Hikkaduwa, The Plywood factory in Gintota, The Dutch Fort in Galle and the artificial Power Generating Plants operated with the help of wind mill installed at Hambantota. Then we moved towards the Udawalawe National Park for Elephants, different spices of birds and animals. From there we left to the hill country, to see Diyaluma Waterfall and The Bambarakanda waterfall which is the highest waterfall in Sri Lanka.

Then we reached Nuwara Eliya(The hill capital). From Nuwara Eliya we visited the Ambawela farm which has a vast area of pasture land, where we saw the milking of cows, the processing of dairy products and the rearing of goats and rabbits. Afterwards, we visited the botanical gardens and parks of great beauty thus enjoying the cool, refreshing climate of the hills.

Annual Inter House Sports Meet 2008

Annual Inter House Sports Meet 2008 was organized by the students, teachers and principal of Yathama School. The Sports committee of Yathama School designed the whole programme.


The Inter house sports competitions held among Hilal House, Najum House and the Shums House.

The final day of the sports meet held on Sunday 10-02-2008 at the school green under the auspices of board of management of Makola Muslim Orphanage. The final day programme commenced at 2.00 p.m. with Qirathul Quran and ended up with prize giving at 5.00 p.m.

Winners were awarded with valuable prizes, medals and certificates. The members of the board of management including secretaries and treasures gave away the prizes and trophies with medals.
